HELOFILTER

The helofilter is a natural wastewater treatment system that uses aquatic plants, mainly helophytes (such as reeds or totora), to purify water through physical, chemical, and biological processes.
The water passes through a gravel and sand filter bed where plant roots, along with microorganisms, remove organic contaminants, nutrients, and pathogens, making it an environmentally friendly, low-maintenance, and highly efficient system.
BENEFITS
Low operating cost: Does not require constant electrical power or complex technologies, which reduces operating expenses.
Environmentally friendly: Promotes biodiversity and does not generate unpleasant odors or hazardous waste.
High treatment efficiency: It can remove up to 90% of organic matter and nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus, improving the quality of treated water.
RECOMMENDED USES
Rural housing or areas without sewage systems | Hotels, eco-cabins and campsites | Agro-industries and community centers.
